As a Gottman Method couples therapist, almost all the couples who seek me out are struggling. Some haven’t had sex for decades. Some have had affairs. Some have battles that rage daily.
Others are struggling with addiction, depression, crippling anxiety, PTSD, or some other psychological problem on top of the relentless pain inside their relationship.
Some have consulted lawyers, some have already separated, and some come to me because, despite already being divorced, they are still having horrible arguments about the kids. A few who’ve already divorced still want to give it one last try.
Most are extremely distressed; many are desperate.
Using the Gottman Method, we have a tool kit for helping you make changes and improve your relationship. It includes skills for managing conflict well, exercises for bridging emotional distance, and interventions to help you deepen your connection to one another.
The therapy is not a curriculum that couples work through. It is experiential and spontaneous.
Every couple’s therapy is unique.
You can expect to inch upwards, then relapse, and then gain ground all over again. But there is time to talk fully and create the safety to be vulnerable with each other.
In the therapeutic relationship, I provide a non-judgmental, collaborative, supportive, and safe healing environment. My training and areas of clinical expertise are in couples and families, anxiety disorders, trauma related to childhood sexual abuse, depression, stress and burnout, anger, and grief.
I am an Educator and Trainer for The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work, by John Gottman.
Thank you for visiting my profile. I offer a free consultation to see if we are a fit. I look forward to talking with you.
