Married for over 25 years, I understand firsthand what it's like to navigate the hard seasons of a long-term marriage and to reach out for help. That experience means I bring something to this work that goes beyond clinical training. I know what it feels like to love someone and still feel stuck, distant, or unsure of what comes next. I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use Gottman Method Couples Therapy in my work. My approach centers on identifying the interaction patterns that keep couples disconnected. Couples rarely struggle because they've stopped caring. They struggle because they're caught in cycles that are hard to see and even harder to break alone. Using Gottman assessments, tools, and interventions, I help partners understand what's actually happening between them and build concrete skills to change it. The work is structured and research-based, but both partners will feel heard throughout the process.
I'm also trained in Discernment Counseling through the Doherty Relationship Institute. This is specialized, short-term work for couples who are ambivalent about the future of their relationship and unsure whether to recommit or move toward divorce. Discernment Counseling is about helping each partner gain clarity and choose a direction for their marriage with confidence.
I am also a certified SYMBIS facilitator, working with premarital couples who want to build a strong foundation before marriage. SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) is a research-based assessment that helps couples understand each other deeply and prepare for a lasting partnership.
I believe couples who seek help are doing one of the bravest things they'll ever do. My job is to make that investment worth it. I serve couples in Loveland and the greater Cincinnati area in a private pay practice.
