I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (licensed in Texas, Utah, Florida and Maine) who has been drawn to the work of Dr. John Gottman since early on in my professional career. I have earned the distinction of Certified Gottman Therapist, am a Master Trainer and Consultant for The Gottman Institute and am thrilled to be bringing this method into my practice.
Through collaboration, I walk with my clients on the path of new skill development and emotional healing. I believe that each person has unique strengths and values that need to be supported and developed to foster lifelong health and happiness.
From a young age I was drawn to working with individuals to help them develop a sense of empowerment. Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Women’s Studies and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah, I began my career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Before private practice, I directed a homeless shelter in the Washington D.C. area and worked with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors in various settings.
My extensive experience, allows me to work with a wide range of client issues. Valuing and supporting diversity, I provide a welcoming environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender clients. I am passionate about using Gottman Method™ Couples Counseling to help couples improve their relationship and heal from betrayals. My business partner and I offer the Art & SCIENCE of Love Couples Weekend Workshop and Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Gottman Method Couples Therapy training for clinicians. In addition, I am a consultant for clinicians working towards certification and am a supervisor for Social Workers working towards their clinical license.
