About

Before entering the field of psychotherapy, I was an economist and a finance professional who worked for Goldman Sachs in New York and Mexico City. I studied Economics at ITAM in Mexico City and then obtained a Masters in Finance from Boston College. I later transitioned to the non-profit sector and served as CFO of Pro Mujer, an international micro finance organization that provides small loans and business training to low-income women in Latin America.

My passion for helping others continued to grow while raising my two boys, as a volunteer with community organizations that help immigrant families in Houston. Through my own journey in therapy and through seeing the need for bilingual mental health services, I decided to return to school in 2018 to pursue a masters degree in clinical social work from the University of Houston.

Originally from Mexico City, I have lived in Houston more than 25 years and proudly call Houston home. As a mom and a wife, my approach to therapy is deeply shaped by the real-life lessons of marriage and parenting.

My credentials include:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Texas.

Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Houston’s Graduate College of Social Work.

Post Graduate Fellowship in Clinical Social Work from the Menninger Clinic. Intensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy with diagnostically-complex patients and their families in the clinic’s Program for Professionals.

Clinician at Ethos/Lovett Center for three years. Provided therapy to individual and couples and led psycho educational and psychotherapy groups in the clinic’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

Certified in Group Psychotherapy (CGP) from the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA)
