I am passionate about helping couples heal and grow using the best resources available. Gottman Method Couples Therapy is effective for many couples in disarming conflict and improving verbal communication, increasing intimacy, respect, and affection, removing barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy, and creating a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. Previously I spent 30 years in the community newspaper industry, working and managing a family-owned community newspaper in Roxboro, North Carolina. In May 2020, I graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an MA in Christian Marriage, Family, and Individual Counseling. Having benefited from mental health and relationship counseling, I desire to assist clients of all ages and backgrounds in improving their mental and relational health. I work with teens, individuals, couples, and parents and use evidence-based, relational, and individually appropriate methods. Other counseling interests include treating depression and anxiety, stress management, adoption, special needs parenting, and life transitions.
(Please note that health insurance does not cover couples counseling.)
