About
I believe what sets me apart from many other therapists is my warm and friendly approach to the therapeutic relationship. My clients will often say that they feel entirely at ease and comfortable with me. The relationship matters more to me than any theory or technique, and I put great emphasis on unconditional positive regard for my clients regardless of their past.
My approach to therapy is intentionally direct, yet gentle and collaborative as I encourage my clients to see the areas where they want change and help guide them through the steps to move in that direction. My greatest goal for my clients is holistic health, which for me means that there is overall healing of wounds, and graceful acceptance of scars and the drive and purpose to move forward with their lives creating whatever it is they want for their future.
I emphasize self-acceptance, forgiveness and grace. We have to first accept ourselves for all that we are, strengths and weaknesses, before we can use them in an effective way. I challenge my clients to forgive themselves for past mistakes, and move forward toward their own goals for a better future.
I believe that we all are seeking to connect not only with another person, but that we long to connect with a sense of purpose for our lives. I encourage my clients to get involved in some way, with their neighborhood, spiritual group, or community at large to both give of themselves in a positive way and to receive from others in the process.
I have a heart from couples and families striving to stay together, in a culture that does its best to pull us apart and fragment us from one another and ourselves. I provide family therapy and parenting help for those struggling with these demanding roles. I present workshops both for couples and for families seeking to build their family units and create lasting bonds that are so desperately needed.
I have also expanded to a group practice and have additional clinicians offering therapy now
