Are you feeling more and more disconnected from your significant other, like there is a huge gulf that cannot be crossed anymore? My approach to therapy is a lot like my approach to life. I use humor, love languages (Gary Chapman), reality checks, and interpersonal dynamics to enhance the therapeutic relationship. I realize that therapy is often work, but it does not have to be drudgery. Having a positive outlook on your situation often gives hope to keep fighting for the story you want. I believe that much of what happens to us can be reevaluated when additional perspectives are provided. Knowing that you are not alone, and what you are going through is emotional are just a few pieces of the puzzle. I will help you steer your life and relationship back to the big picture of what life looked like when you were happy in your marriage. I do not promise outcomes, but I do promise that I will be here during the journey, and I will offer an objective perspective to help you rekindle that early love you shared with your partner. What that looks like in action is better communication, more enjoyment in your day to day exchanges, fun and play return to your everyday engagement. Living in an unfulfilling, angry, or even distant co-existence is not really living. Why not put the same energy that is being wasted on frustrations, hurts, and anxiety into reconnecting, and rebuilding the life you were meant to have. I use the tools from the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help you revitalize your life, and relationship. I offer help in working on communication and conflict, dissidence in your relationship, emotional issues related to anxiety and depression, co-morbid disorders such as substance issues and other mental health diagnosis as well as issues with blended families, and conflicting ex-partners. I view the whole family as potentially benefiting from therapy and can provide family therapy once the relationship issues are on their way to being re-established.
Couples in crisis, relationship disconnect, divorce, parent/child issues, and family conflict.
