Christina (Sung Aie) Choi
Dr. Choi has a Master’s degree in Psychology from Columbia University and a PhD degree in Human Development from The University of Chicago. She got her clinical training in Germany and then became the first certified Gottman Therapist in Asia.
Choi currently conducts Gottman’s Level I, II, III training in Korea as well as giving supervision leading to certification. In addition, she gives professional workshops on emotion coaching, trauma, resilience, family constellation & generational trauma, attachment injury & recovery, and addiction.
Choi had her own daytime TV talk show, “Dr. Choi’s Family Clinic”, on KBS, a major network in Korea, and has appeared in numerous programs. She has made more than a dozen TV documentaries on marriage, parenting, lifespan development, the adolescent brain and education.
Choi has authored several bestsellers, including a book coauthored with Dr. John Gottman, “Emotion Coaching” and gives public talks to a very wide range of audience, including parents, educators, professionals, military, medical doctors, and government officials.
Choi is the Co-Founder and Co-Director (with her husband, Peck Cho) of HD Institute of Resilience and Positivity, which provides workshops for parents, teachers and professionals. The Center also offers “The Seeds of Happiness”, a free educational program, teaching Emotion Coaching to hundreds of daycare centers in impoverished areas and to volunteers of UNICEF. Choi also provides the Gottman Couples Workshop to thousands of underprivileged couples in Korea and Vietnam. She and her husband Peck hope to make this world a safer and happier place for all, especially for children.
