About

I am a licensed clinical psychologist who believes in the resilience of the human spirit. Living in society can seem chaotic and often feeling heard by others may seem impossible, yet we yearn for love and harmony. Too often, we wind up distancing ourselves because it may seem easier, but then the result is feelings of alienation and loneliness. We add to these feelings of loneliness by erecting barriers between ourselves and others which only perpetuate the problem.

Therapy can offer a means of releasing energy so that barriers are removed permitting new possibilities for a more content existence.

I work with individuals and couples who struggle with a variety of concerns such as stress, depression, life transitions, anxiety and other relationship issues. As a Gottman trained couples therapist, I work with couples who are seeking more collaborative relationships, a better means at conflict resolution, as well as more respect for each other.

Couples stay together for a variety of reasons: love, children religion, security, habit, etc., and the effects are also varied - from satisfaction to boredom or worse, hatred. I offer the art of re-negotiating the marital contract for a more satisfactory relationship by providing tools aimed at increasing awareness of each other for a greater connection.

We all want to feel connected to the other but too often we are at a loss at how to accomplish the connection. We live on the surface of life and fear going below the waterline. I offer several ways of how to go below the surface with your significant other, as well as with family and friends.

Special populations

I work with a diverse population including same sex couples.
