Helping couples with Gottman Method is my specialization. You will find a blueprint for healing complex relationship difficulties and for resolving old hurts and betrayals. On-line sessions are available with approval.
I have been practicing as a psychotherapist since 1995. My initial focus was on working with families that were affected by abuse. My early training was in structural family therapy. My background is in forensic clinical social work (dealing with recovery from rape and assault); military mental health (dealing with battle trauma and physical disability); working with trauma in children and adolescents and families (school social work, and child protective services). My practice in these areas led to more focused attention to helping the entire system of abuse, not only victims but also perpetrators of abuse. A greater and greater portion of my practice began to focus on addressing the trauma experienced on both sides of abuse. I was trained, supervised, and certified in a variety of approaches to resolve trauma including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). As I worked with individuals recovering from trauma, it was also clear that there was a complex co-occurring relationship component that needed to be addressed. In 2009 I started my in-depth training in Gottman Method Relationship Therapy. The Gottman method is the capstone.
