About

David Nowland is a registered psychologist and Certified Gottman Therapist.

Along with advanced studies in counselling and psychology David has over 30 years experience and is a leading provider of professional psychology and counselling services for individuals and couples based in Southport on the Gold Coast.

If the problems in your relationship are persistent and/or affecting your quality of life, then it is wise that you seek counselling or couples therapy. David is empathetic to both partners and also avoids taking sides. Positive changes can be seen after about 4-6 sessions, but this will vary from couple to couple depending on the nature and complexities in the relationship. His aim is to help you to achieve understanding, closeness and connection not just better coping.

He also has training in Schema Therapy, Chairwork, trauma specific treatments, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

“I teach all my clients effective powerful techniques based on sound scientific research that gives them greater purpose and stability in their lives so they can achieve their desired outcomes and live in alignment with their values.”
