Our relationships can be the source of our deepest happiness as well as the biggest stressors in our lives. When it's the latter, it takes incredible bravery and courage to even consider change.
My approach to working with couples comes from the perspective of coaching. I am certified at the PCC Level through the International Coaching Federation (this means I have 500 + hours of coaching experience) and I'm trained in Gottman Levels I and II, 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work and Bringing Baby Home. I am also a certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC). I blend Gottman's evidence based practices with the science of behavior change, motivation, and your readiness for bringing change into your relationship. My style blends compassion with deep listening and kindness. I help you understand the vision you have for your relationship and then create small, manageable, yet profoundly transformative steps to make improvement. My favorite Gottman phrase is: “Successful long-term relationships are created through small words, small gestures, and small acts.”
I am trained in yoga and have been teaching mindfulness since 2009. In addition to my commitment to the evidence and science-based practices related to relationship work, I bring mindfulness, meditation, movement, compassion and forgiveness into my work whenever possible.
I am not a therapist, so I am unable to diagnose you or offer any therapeutic guidance or assessment. If this resonates with you, please schedule an inquiry to see if our styles match. Wishing you the best on your journey.
