I have been practicing Psychotherapy for over 20 years. My clinical speciality is Couples Therapy. I have training in the Gottman Method (Levels I & II), and Sue Johnson's EFT method (ongoing). I did Post-doctoral work with Jill & David Scharff at the International Institute for Object Relations Therapy. I have received training from Allan Schore in Affect Regulation Therapy, and Dan Siegel in Interpersonal Neurobiology and remain current on the latest research in Affective Neuroscience. I also have training in Pat Ogden's Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (ongoing) which is a method for treating trauma. I work with couples for two hours per session, which has yielded very good results since I first instituted this practice in 2007.
I have been surprized by the number people seeking service with a trauma history. Unresolved trauma usually results in repetitive and cyclic conflict that the couple has been unable to resolve and often results in either a highly conflicted relationship or several failed realtionships. In the last few years there has been a significant amount of research on trauma and trauma therapy. As a result there is more hope now than ever before. I am current on the latest research and methods.
