Whatever has brought you to this point -- whether it be a slow process or a significant event that has disturbed your world - can make life feel overwhelming. How we perceive life is what is important. Navigating life’s obstacles and relationships are challenging, but both can be improved with healthy communication and a new perspective. I am passionate about assisting you to improve your relationships in a non-judgmental atmosphere, to identify what is and isn’t working in current communication patterns, to gain self-awareness and skills that will help you make better choices, to look clearly at potential consequences, to problem-solve, and to help you learn healthy ways to cope with life challenges.
By creating a relationship where you feel heard, valued, and safe, I work to ensure that therapy becomes a place of self-discovery, where destructive thoughts and dysfunctional patterns are uncovered and new, positive skills and ways of thinking are learned to bring growth and restoration.
I pledge to walk with you in your vulnerability and through life’s struggles. My goal is not to change you but to help you facilitate the change you desire and bring you to the place where you want to be, or to help you accept the unchangeable to achieve peace.
I have extensive personal experience in parenting (Mom to 7; 6 adopted; some with ADD), and have dealt with grief issues such as infertility and miscarriage, as well as pre and post adoption issues. I have also helped college-aged individuals who are searching for their purpose and dealing with adjustment and anxiety issues, and I have mentored individuals and provided them with leadership growth skills. I am a skilled, caring, compassionate, sensitive counselor who is committed to giving you exceptional care.
