Relationships have patterns, and within a couple's pattern are practices that are effective for forming close relational bonds and practices that are ineffective for forming such bonds. Those practices can be identified, the effective ones strengthened, and the ineffective ones replaced. I would love to help you discover your particular pattern, and to strengthen your bond.

In my counseling approach, I incorporate thirty years of interdisciplinary experience, including social work, pastoral ministry, and counseling. Your counseling session will be informed by Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, trauma informed therapy, Enneagram coaching, an understanding of spiritual formation, and personal experience from my own forty-year marriage.

I am currently limiting my practice to 2 ¼ day private couple intensives through Couples Therapy, Inc. of Massachusetts.

Conducting couples therapy in a non-intensive hourly format may resume in 2027. In that format, the Intake Session is 4.5 hours; the second session 2 hours, and subsequent sessions 1.5 hours.

In addition to couples therapy, I lead the Gottman Institute programs: "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work," and "Bringing Baby Home." These are great opportunities to learn Dr. Gottman's research-based principles in an educational format with practical applications.
