Provides online therapy
NOT ACCEPTING NEW COUPLES until January 2021
I see people as having incredible strength and fortitude along with genuine vulnerabilities. I am an eclectic with a drive for change. I have an MSc Dregree in Psychiatric Research in the Department of Medicine, from l'Université de Montréal, where I studied the effects of human stress across the lifespan. I then earned a PhD in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, where I was trained in several therapeutic modalities working with teens, adults, and seniors, individually and in groups.
My primary work with clients is to help them foster greater personal insight into themselves to understand why they are where they are, and chose more consciously going forward. I will support you in developing greater control over your thoughts and emotions. I have training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Self-Compassion, and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I help older teens and adults overcome things like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship problems (family, friends, partners). I also help clients work through grief from loss, separation, or death.
For couples, my approach is primarily informed by the Gottman method to help couples reconnect and establish constructive tools for dialogue and find common ground, while respecting each person’s individuality.
During therapy, I strive to create a caring and inviting atmosphere with an open heart and mind, to guide my clients towards greater insight and happiness..
I hope to see you in session.
