About
Elizabeth has been in private practice since 2010.
She has a background in education, in particular working with those who needed extra help. She also sought to help parents be empowered to understand and advocate for their children, recognising they are ideally placed to have a huge, positive impact on their child's life.
In addition, it was her privilege to work as a counsellor in hospice palliative and bereavement care, helping people and their families manage that time in their life. Relationships that were able to move into a deep, healthy space became key, where nothing was off-limits provided it was heart sharing and relationship building.
Encountering the Gottman Method later in private practice has refined and simplified her relationship practice. Decades of excellent research that also acknowledges and incorporates the work of others, has created a Method that provides a whole package which is able to help couples maximise their love for each other into a strong union. It might seem that in this union the individual does not exist but in fact the opposite is true. Each one is taught how to have a voice that is able to be heard, perhaps even a better voice than they had before, from the heart. This therapy is designed to satisfy the needs of the individual to make up the union.
Nothing stays the same in life, but when there is open healthy positive communication founded on love that deepens intimacy and commitment, negative change may not only be weathered and managed but contains within it the possibility of becoming the source of even better things.
