About

Working with individuals and families for thirty years as a registered social worker I recognized my passion for therapeutic work and opened my home office ten years ago to offer a variety of interventions such as coping with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, affairs, child behaviour, and personal and workplace stress primarily through Employee Assistance Programmes. I used an eclectic approach including brief therapy, solution focussed, cognitive behavioural methods, reality therapy and family systems models with my approach dependent on client needs and the problem issues to be addressed.

I became especially passionate about working with couples and was introduced through the agency to the research of John Gottman. I was hooked!!! It all made so much sense, was practical and I was excited I could offer this information to my clients and work towards progress and improvement within their relationships. My enthusiasm for the Gottman Method grew so it was a natural progression to further my skill level at the Gottman Institute and, now I have completed Level three training in the Gottman Method and will complete certification shortly. In 2013 I opened my own counselling office in New Westminster BC .I am currently offering video counselling with all its advantages - no traffic to contend with, no parking fees, no child care necessary and sessions in the comfort of your own home.

I have been told my approach is friendly ,warm and welcoming and offers a safe secure place in which clients can feel comfortable and at ease. I have a BA in Psych, a BSW and MSW, and am registered with the BC College of Social Workers as a Registered Social Worker . I am also registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.
