I am a marriage and family therapist, a clinical member of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) - Marriage and Family Therapists Working in Trauma, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level II trained couples therapist. I received my bachelor’s in psychology and sociology from Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey. I earned my master’s in marriage and family therapy from Drexel University. I work with individuals and couples with a range of sexual disorders, trauma related disorders, anxiety and depression. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other mindfulness techniques, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I provide services in English and Turkish, and I also treat immigrant mental health related issues. As a professional who moved to the United States in 2016, I love working with a diverse population. Diversity in age, culture, religion, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, and sexual orientation allows me to create unique treatment goals to meet the needs of everyone in therapy. Overall, my approach is inclusive, systemic, culturally sensitive, and trauma informed. It takes courage to go to therapy. I appreciate the time that you invest in yourself and your relationships and value your openness and honesty. I understand the importance of having healthy relationships in our lives, and I build a safe relationship with you by honoring your expectations from therapy.
