About
Most couples don't come to therapy because something is broken. They come because they miss the way they used to feel with each other, and the same conversations keep ending the same way. If that sounds familiar, you're in a good place to start.
I work with couples at any stage of their relationship on the things that quietly wear a partnership down: communication that turns into conflict, resentment that builds up, feeling more like roommates than partners. My goal isn't to figure out who's right. It's to help the two of you understand what's actually happening between you and learn to respond to each other differently.
As a licensed psychologist, my work is grounded in the Gottman Method, an approach built on decades of research into what makes relationships last. In practice, that means paying attention to how you handle conflict, how you stay connected day to day, and how you support each other's hopes for the future.
I also work with couples preparing for marriage. Premarital counseling is a chance to talk through the things that are easy to assume and hard to bring up — money, family, expectations — before they turn into tension later on.
You don't have to wait until things feel urgent to reach out. If you're ready to work on your relationship, I'd be glad to help.
Special populations
I work with all couples; special populations include Jewish and interfaith couples.
