It can get better. You can have the relationship you desire if both partners are committed to making some changes and putting in the work.
I believe in using therapies that have been proven to be effective. This is what attracted me to Gottman Therapy. It has decades of research that provides great insight into increasing relationship effectiveness.
I am passionate about helping couples have healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I employ wholistic methods that incorporate the mind, body, and spirit. I am direct, yet warm, and often use humor in therapy. I enjoy what I do and aim to create a safe environment for healing that allows the couple to enjoy engaging in the therapeutic process as well.
I am married to an Air Force Veteran and am a proud Navy mom. My husband and I have three children, ages 32, 31, and 18. My husband and I have been married for 18 years. Blending our family was not always easy but it has been worth it. We've all put the work in that has created meaningful relationships. Blending our families also included blending my older children’s father and his family with ours. Holidays, special events, & Sunday dinners are joyous times with our extended blended family!
I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 2008 and my Master of Professional Counseling in 2002 from Georgia State University. My areas of concentration are trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and treating couples where one or both partners has a trauma history, affair recovery, and establishing and maintaining healthy relationships. I have received extensive training in these areas using proven treatments.
I look forward to working with you to create your healthier and fulfilling relationship.
