As a couple’s therapist, I take a caring, non-judgmental approach while providing direct feedback and coaching in each session. I am conscientious and effortful about making sure each partner feels heard, understood and validated and to providing wise guidance, evidence-based education and practical relationship skills. My goal is that you and your partner will leave each session with a greater sense of hope for recovery and healing AND experience a more fulfilling and satisfying relationship.
Couples issues that are at the center of my heart include:
Life transitions (from entering into parenthood to becoming empty nesters to retirement)
Communication issues (feeling gaslit)
Gridlocked issues (or those same conflicts that keep resurfacing)
PTSD and trauma that interferes with intimacy in the relationship
Mental health issues, such mood and anxiety disorders, that may complicate the relationship
Additionally, I am intensively trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and trained in DBT-Prolonged Exposure (DBT-PE) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which are very complimentary therapeutic approaches that will inform, enrich and enhance your therapeutic experience.
A little bit about me… I am a proud double Bruin and graduated from UCLA’s Master of Social Welfare program in 2011, earning my license in 2015. I have been both unhappily and happily married now for 24 years (happy to report happy now) and have two amazing daughters now 22 and 24. My life experiences, educational pursuits and very eclectic work history inform my craft as a therapist and coach. I genuinely love the helping profession and hope to hear from you.
