About
Professionally, Ilene Bosscher, MDiv, MA, PTC is trained in the top relationship therapies that have answers for your questions and can lead you to undestand what and how change needs to happen. She was trained in October of 2012 in The Gottman Method to Level 3 in Seattle, Washington with John and Julie Gottman.
In 2014 She was trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy by Gail Palmer and Kenny Sanderfer in Nashville, TN. Sanderfer is the Co-author along with Sue Johnson of the book, Created for Connection, EFT Christian perspective of Sue's book, Hold Me Tight. Nancy Akin, PhD taught her Core Skills Course.
In 2015, she was trained by Tony and Becky Victor in Imago Relationship Therapy. She is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who understands relationships –what can go wrong, how to get things back on track, and restore the peace and love that defined your relationship once.
In addition to being a prominent Relationship and Family Therapist, Ilene is also a highly sought-after Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2012 and has served on the board of directors in multiple offices of the Kentucky Association for Play Therapy for 12 years and is now a Past President. She has served on the CE and Registration Committee of the international Association for Play Therapy for a decade. Play Therapy (www.a4pt.org ) is a well-respected evidence-based means of engaging and helping children more directly communicate their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. If your child is struggling with emotional or behavioral difficulties, and having trouble communicating the cause and/or nature of their struggle, play therapy may be very helpful. Ilene has finished her course work in a PhD program in MFT and is working on her dissertation.
