What started as small disconnects has turned into walls you don’t know how to break down. And it’s not just what’s happening between you — it’s how you start reacting to it. Fear of losing the relationship, or resentment about what feels unfair, begins to take over. Before long, most of what you say comes from a place of protection instead of connection.

At Authentically You Counselling and Psychotherapy, we help couples untangle and navigate these painful cycles. Our work is active, engaging, and compassionate. We give you practical skills and practice them together in session, creating moments that mirror what happens between you outside of therapy. We encourage you to speak directly to one another, learning to pause, regulate your emotions, communicate honestly, and articulate yourself in ways that build connection instead of conflict. We also go deeper, exploring values, compatibility, and patterns from childhood that can shape how you show up in the relationship. Along the way, we help you separate what issues come from each individual, what comes from the relationship itself, and where the two overlap, while building emotional intelligence and stronger communication skills.

Sessions with our master’s-level student interns start at $100 for couples.
