About

Irina received her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Idaho in 2019 before earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah in 2021. While working in public health at Weber Human Services, Irina was able to hone her recovery skills supporting clients with severe trauma and addiction. Following this, she worked as a hospital social worker in the ICU of McKay-Dee Hospital helping patients and families navigate some of life’s most stressful moments. Currently, Irina works at the University of Idaho providing individual therapy for enrolled college students, and also works part-time as a clinician at a private residential program for young adults learning life skills and addressing roadblocks to success. Irina is a Gottman Level Three trained couples counselor and volunteers her time to lead a local “Seeking Safety” recovery group as a free community resource.

Irina has experience in treating anxiety, depression, psychosis, substance use, trauma, and life transitions and relationship difficulties. She believes all people have the power to heal from emotional wounds and create experiences that are satisfying and healthy for their individual life. Irina uses a client-centered and collaborative style to engage with clients who are seeking paths forward from stuck places.

Irina utilizes modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and the Gottman method, in addition to other forms of mindfulness practices.

In her free time Irina enjoys gardening, walking her dog, and a good cup of coffee with friends and family.
