About

I have a passion for helping people have healthier relationships: with their partners, their families and their Self. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, and in addition to training in the Gottman Method I have earned post graduate certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT - Certified Consultant in EFCT, EFFT & EFIT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP - Consultant in Training), and Discernment Counseling. I engage in ongoing training and consultation in other methods (i.e. Sex Therapy, and various other approaches to working with adults, romantic relationships and families) in order to serve my clients well.

In addition to my clinical and consultation practices, I am the co-founder and Clinical Director of North Carolina Therapy Professionals, PLLC, a psychotherapy group practice with an emphasis on promoting self determination and healthy relationships through humanistic-relational practices that cultivate autonomy, competency and relatedness. Our practitioners emphasize affirmation, open dialogue, inclusion and celebration of diverse identity & culture, empathy & compassion, emotional validation, and deep reflective processing. We prioritize supporting our providers, knowing that they do fabulous work with excellent support... we give to them what we give to our clients.

I whether you are seeking Gottman Method relationship therapy specifically, some other method I provide, or just help with your relationships with yourself and others, I welcome the opportunity to be with you and do the work of healing and growth in psychotherapy together.

By the way, my wife and I (married 16 years) have completed our own course of Gottman Method therapy at a tough time in our marriage (it helped a lot!). I have also done my own long term psychotherapy with wonderful therapists. I believe that therapy should be weird (in a good way), but the therapist shouldn't be a weirdo. Happy to pay it forward.
