About

For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of working with couples, families, and individuals to create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

I help couples and families improve communication, strengthen emotional intimacy, and manage conflict more effectively. Whether you're facing challenges or want to deepen your connection, I work collaboratively with you and tailor therapy to your goals. Areas addressed include affair recovery, depression or anxiety affecting relationships, emotional and physical intimacy, infertility, parenting, blended families, a loved one's substance abuse or mental illness, and premarital counseling.

I help individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, anger, trauma, and substance abuse recovery. These challenges may be intensified by current relationships or rooted in past ones. Together, we work to gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, and improve emotional well-being.

Other areas include relationships with family, friends, co-workers, or faith communities; intrusive thoughts; patterns of anger; grief, loss, and forgiveness; and healing from trauma through EMDR, an evidence-based approach.

My approach is supportive, active, and practical. My style is gentle and appropriately directive. I primarily use the Gottman Method, grounded in decades of research on lasting, satisfying relationships. I also draw from Family Systems Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Theory. Family Systems explores the balance between being ourselves and maintaining satisfying relationships. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps improve mood, reduce unwanted behaviors, and develop healthier thinking patterns. Attachment Theory focuses on building trust, strengthening bonds, and deepening closeness. In my experience, clients who apply strategies from these evidence-based approaches experience greater individual and relational well-being.
