Assisting the growth process, especially for couples, is my passion. I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oregon in 1981, and I have been working with individuals, families and couples in private practice since that time. I was initially trained in Structural Family Therapy, and began to focus on couples, getting certified as a Gottman Couples Therapist in 2005. I added certifications in facilitating Couples workshops, as well as Gottman Trainings for therapists. I am currently working on certification in Emotionally Focussed Couples Therapy and Brainspotting for trauma. I offer The Art and Science of Love and Hold Me Tight workshops, as well as Intensives for Couples.
In my work with couples, I draw from what I believe to be the most effective, research-based methodologies, EFT and the Gottman method, weaving together healthy communication and conflict-resolution strategies with attachment dynamics. I teach couples to work through challenges with safety and respect, and encourage them to build intimacy and trust through emotional transparency. I derive a deep sense of meaning from being a witness to the transformation of individuals, couples, and families.
