I am a clinical social worker with 20 years of experience treating anxiety and depression with CBT. I’ve learned first hand that marriage and parenting is much harder and more stressful than people imagine. Knowing that you and your relationships need help is a strength but asking for help can make us feel very vulnerable. I embrace the Gottman method for couple’s therapy because it is evidence based, skills focused and most importantly, it works!!
I hope to offer you a safe space to identify and explore your individual goals and relationship goals. I believe that assessment, learning people’s stories and setting goals are necessary to lay down the foundation of effective therapy.
Teaching skills and providing useful tools to improve communication, strengthen friendship and intimacy, manage conflict, build self-esteem and reinforce emotional connection are the treatment path to relationship repair.
My goal as your therapist will be that you will complete therapy feeling a greater sense of validation and understanding both for your partner and from your partner.
