Perhaps you're feeling stuck in communication patterns or dynamics that are hard to shift, or you're recovering from a breach of trust/infidelity, or one of you is struggling with recovery from substance use? Perhaps you feel that the "spark" is gone in the relationship, your partner feels distant, or that adverse childhood experiences are hindering your ability to connect with each other and communicate effectively?
Whatever the concerns are, I am a highly compassionate, respectful and active therapist who listens to you and your partner's needs and adapts sessions accordingly. I “walk with” you and your partner through difficulties by providing empathetic listening and concrete skills. I'm here to guide you in rebuilding your relationship using evidence based and trauma-informed tools developed from years of research. For more information, you can go here:

I’m a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in Guelph, Ontario. I see couples virtually from all over Ontario. I have completed all five Gottman trainings: Levels 1, 2 & 3, as well as Treating Affairs & Trauma, and Couples & Addiction Recovery. In addition, I am trained in Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2).
I offer couples access to the Gottman Relationship Checkup, which provides you and your partner with in-depth insight into the particular strengths and challenges of your "Relationship House." It can serve as a helpful roadmap for where to focus sessions based on your results.
On a personal note, I have been in a very happy relationship with the same partner for over 35 years, and we have an adult child. To learn more about me, please visit: https://www.aligningmindscounselling.com/about
I offer a free virtual 20-minute consultation for you to get to know me, ask questions and see if we might be a good fit. Please feel free to reach out and connect. I look forward to meeting you!
