I am passionate about helping couples have more satisfying relationships.
While I believe couples benefit from the Gottman tools to improve communication, friendship, and intimacy, I also work with couples on deeper issues; what is each individual bringing to the session internally. How do family of origin issues impact each person and the couple. I help couples connect with themselves and calm themselves using mindfulness and self-soothing. This combination can allow couples to be more vulnerable with each other to improve the feeling of connection.
I work collaboratively with couples to identify strengths and areas that need work in their relationship and to establish goals for therapy.
In addition to my experience working with couples I bring honesty, genuineness, compassion and humor to each session and have been married for 32 years, which informs my ability to be non-judgmental and open to many different perspectives.
