About

I help couples and families who feel stuck.

If you want to explore therapy, I have openings in Illinois for remote sessions as well as in-person sessions at a clinic in Wheaton.

For more than three decades I’ve been supporting families, couples, and adolescents from a variety of backgrounds. This experience has provoked my professional development and prompted my pursuit of Gottman Certification, the highest level of training at the Gottman Research Institute. In this process I’ve been privileged to work under Dr. Mike McNulty, the first certified Gottman Therapist in Illinois and one of the first Master Trainers chosen by The Gottman Institute.

My work focuses on helping couples and families break disastrous patterns and replace them with practices and beliefs that promote closeness. I believe that every relationship has challenges, so I strive to provide a supportive environment without judgement where clients can discover the answers they need for their unique situations.

In 2000 I began working with couples in a city with a large military presence a few months before 9/11 and the subsequent deployments. In the years that followed I supported reunification efforts for soldiers returning to their families, spouses dealing with recurring deployments, and soldiers returning from war with PTSD. My clinical career started with families, cutting my teeth by providing court-mandated counseling for adolescents. These settings helped hone the skills needed to provide a safe, supportive environment that engages those who are resistant to or skeptical of therapy.

Over the past 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of leading numerous marriage conferences, retreats, and groups. I’ve worked extensively with churches, faith-based organizations, pastors, and ministers to address local, family needs. My work has enabled me to serve a diverse population, ethnically, socio-economically, and culturally.

If you’re interested in therapy with me, I’d love to help.
