I am passionate about the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy because I have seen it make a positive difference in many relationships, including my own.
I use a highly relational approach when working with couples. Creating a safe place for you to talk about challenging issues and express painful feelings is my highest priority. Combining gentle confrontation that facilitates growth with a high level of empathy and caring really helps me develop a good therapy relationship with my couples. My love for my work and my confidence in the power of therapy to help people improve their relationships and enhance their quality of life is evident in my work with couples.
My values and faith affect how I practice therapy. It is important to me to treat all patients with respect, caring and compassion.
I am offering HIPPA compliant telementalhealth couples therapy. Surprisingly, it works quite well. You are able to receive therapy from the comfort and convenience of your home or office. I encourage you to try it if your relationship is having difficulty. Here is a youtube video of me doing a telemental health couples session.

My lifelong passion for helping people through psychotherapy has helped me build a lasting, successful private practice for over 20 years and led me to become professor of graduate psychology at Northwest University. At NU, I focus on teaching and supervising students of psychology so they will become compassionate, life-changing psychologists of the future.
As the clinical director of NUhope Community Counseling Center in Kirkland, WA, I supervise therapists who have taken Gottman Levels 1 & 2 training. They provide Gottman Method Couples Therapy at a reduced cost starting at $30 per session for couples who are financially stressed. Please e-mail nuhopeinfo@northwestu.edu for more information.
I offer traditional Gottman and Gottman-RED, a new therapy for couples with eating disorders.
