Do you feel that the life dance with your partner has lost its rhythm? Has the connection for friendship and communication eroded or become non existent? When the flow of this sacred dance is disrupted, arguments escalate, understanding each other diminishes, and all of a sudden we feel we have lost our best friend. The undercurrent of the this rhythm loss can stem from life events such as big changes, addictions, infidelity, traumatic events, family issues, to list a few. These life issues can breed feelings of increased fear, anxiety, depression, shame, and anger. When this happens, perspective gets narrowed which can drive behavior in ineffective ways.
Imagine what it would be like to have the skills to manage conflict when it arises, to be able to work through it, and come out of it on the other side with a deeper understanding, appreciation, and connection for your partner.
The Gottman Method is based on 40 years of research. It is a compassionate and useful process in unpacking issues of the soul. The therapy begins with assessments, a feedback session to examine results and moves to the introduction of the nine components of healthy relationships. From here, I help facilitate a plan that is tailored to meet your needs and goals as a couple. I use the structured, goal oriented Gottman exercises to help couples work through barriers that block the harmonious rhythm of the relationship dance. These interventions help to increase understanding, connection and closeness.
