About

Laura is a Brooklyn-based psychodynamic psychotherapist working with individuals and couples in private practice. Many of the people she works with are thoughtful and self-aware, yet find themselves caught in anxiety, self-criticism, burnout, or relationship challenges they don't fully understand. Therapy is a place to slow down and look at these experiences with curiosity rather than judgment — not only for relief, but for greater clarity, self-understanding, and freedom in how you live and relate.

For couples, Laura uses Gottman Method as the foundation of the work, drawing on its research-based framework to understand a couple's dynamics, strengthen intimacy, and shift the patterns that keep distress recurring. She integrates this with a psychodynamic and relational sensibility, attending to the deeper histories each partner brings and what two people draw out in each other.

Alongside her general couples practice, Laura specializes in working with entertainment, media, and creative professionals who find themselves navigating demanding, identity-defining careers. Much of what she helps with applies across fields: two careers moving at different speeds, one partner's break arriving as the other hits a dry spell, unstable income, long stretches apart, and the tension of loving someone in your own field.

Laura is trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 3) and is beginning advanced couples training at the William Alanson White Institute. She completed a two-year psychodynamic psychotherapy program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and holds an MSW from NYU and a BA in philosophy from Barnard College.

Before becoming a therapist, Laura spent nearly a decade in entertainment and media — experience that informs her understanding of professional pressure, identity, and the gap between how a life looks from outside and how it feels within.
