About
Laura is a Brooklyn-based psychodynamic psychotherapist working with individuals and couples in private practice. She came to this work through a longstanding interest in how people make sense of themselves and their relationships. Many of the people she works with are thoughtful and highly self-aware, yet still find themselves caught in anxiety, self-criticism, burnout, or relationship patterns they don't fully understand.
Therapy offers a place to slow down and look carefully at these experiences together, with curiosity rather than judgment. It's a space not only for relief, but for greater clarity, self-understanding, and freedom in how you live and relate.
For couples, Laura uses Gottman Method Couples Therapy as the foundation of her work — drawing on its research-based framework to understand a couple's dynamics, strengthen intimacy, and address communication patterns that contribute to distress. She integrates this with a psychodynamic sensibility, attending to the deeper histories each partner brings and the relational templates that shape what we bring out in each other. The goal is not just a couple that communicates better, but two people who understand themselves and each other more fully.
Laura has completed advanced training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, The Gottman Institute (Level 2), and NYU Silver School of Social Work, where she received her MSW. She holds a BA in Philosophy from Barnard College and was a visiting scholar at the University of Oxford.
Before becoming a therapist, she spent nearly a decade in media and corporate environments — experience that informs her understanding of professional demands, questions of identity, and the gap between how life appears externally and how it feels internally.
