Wecome to information about me and my practice.

I am a senior clinical and faculty member of the Gottman Institute, certifed as a Gottman Method Couples Therapist in 2004. I have over 15 years of clinical experience, working with individuals, couples, groups, and families. Since 2003, I have specialized in working with couple relationships and this is still my primary focus and passion. I have assisted at Couples Workshops in Seattle, Couple Retreats at Orcas Island, and at clinical trainings in Seattle.

I hold professional licensure in North Carolina and Washington State. I am able to provide in-person therapy or therapy via Skype to populations of both states.

Only Skype is available to Washinington State clients at this time. Since therapy via Skype is delivered across technology, the fees for clinical time are lower than for regular in-person sessions. I can arrange in-person meetings and/or sessions with Washington State clients during scheduled interval visits to the Seattle area.

Inquiries: I am happy to provide prospective clients with an initial, no-charge, phone or video-call consultation to discuss your needs and how Gottman therapy can help your relationship.

My expertise: helping couples re-establish emotional safety and connection, heal from affairs, betrayal, and broken trust. I help couples recover from chronic conflict and manage conflict productively. We identify how to strengthen the core friendship and do that. Together we work toward increasing positive interaction, enhancing personal intimacy, and optimism for the future.

My approach: Gottman therapy provides the blueprint for navigation in the journey of relationship and the therapeutic path forward. I am your energetic, understanding, supportive and persistent guide, caring for your safety each step of the way. I gently help clear the underbrush so we can clearly see the way ahead and know where we're going. We'll have clearly defined goals and we'll know the waypoints of our progress. You'll see where you are instead of feeling lost.

What my clients have said about me:

"Lisa has restored my faith that there are therapists who are uniquely gifted at helping couples restore and repair relationships. She has helped my husband and I to work through disagreements and to understand eachother's point of view. Lisa is great at keeping us on track and helping us understand what the other person is saying when we have difficulty expressing ourselves."

"We left our Marathon Therapy feeling like we did when we first met. It was a huge relief to talk honestly and intensely with no fear. It was hard work, but Lisa was able to pull information out of us like no ever has before. We feel strongly about our marriage now and we are albe to put some things in perspective that had become contentious gridlocked issues."

Intensive Marathon Therapy: I also offer experience providing Marathon Therapy to out of state clients. This is intensive Gottman Couples Therapy for couples, conducted over a time period of approximately two to three days. I will be happy to give you more detailed information about this option when we talk together.

Thank you for your interest. I invite you to call or email me for further information and initial consultation.
