Every day we are presented with the opportunity to nurture and strengthen our relationships through our interactions-these are sliding door opportunities. When the door opens, we can choose to turn towards our partner with intention and honor the sacredness of the relationship. Once the door shuts the opportunity is lost. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Texas, Oregon, Idaho and California, providing online couples couseling and marriage therapy services.. I work with couples to recognize and reclaim these often-missed moments that build friendship, trust, and intimacy in their relationships. When the foundation of our friendship is strong, couples are better able communicate with vulnerability, compassion, deepening the emotional and relational intimacy. Our earliest models of relationships, communication, and conflict come from our primary caregivers, who may have themselves developed unhealthy patterns rooted in trauma and life experience. Through my training with the Gottman Institute and attachment therapies, I have developed skills to guide couples to identify and shift ineffective communication patterns. I approach my work with sensitivity, curiosity, and respect. I intentionally create a therapeutic space that supports openness, compassionate listening, and thoughtful guidance. I invite clients to explore their individual life experiences and traumas while providing psychoeducation to increase awareness of how these experiences shape responses to communication and conflict.
