About

Every day we have the opportunity to nurture and strengthen our relationships through our interactions; these are sliding door opportunities. The door opens, and we can turn towards our partner with intention and honor the sacredness of the relationship. However, once the door shuts the opportunity is lost. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of Texas, Oregon, Idaho and California who specializes in working with couples to recognize these frequently lost opportunities to build the friendship and intimacy in their relationships. When our friendship is strong, we communicate with vulnerability, compassion, and kindness. Our first example of relationships, communication, and conflict are our primary caregivers who may have unhealthy patterns established from their own traumas and insecure attachments. While training with the Gottman Institute and attachment therapies, I have gained skills to resource and guide couples to understand more effective communication patterns. I work with couples with genuine sensitivity and curiosity, and I intentionally create an atmosphere for openness and compassionate listening and guidance. I invite clients to explore their individual experiences and traumas and provide psychoeducation to better understand their behaviors and reactiveness.
