Every day in our relationships, we're given small but powerful moments of connection-"sliding door"opportunities. In these moments we can choose to turn toward our partner with intention, or turn away. Over time, these small choices shape the strength of our friendship, trust, and emotional intimacy in our relationships. Many couples come to therapy feeling stuck in painful communication cycles. You may find yourselves repeating the same arguments, feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or unsure how to repair after conflict. Often, these patterns are rooted in early relationship models we learned from our families and can be shaped by trauma, emotional disconnection, or ineffective communication patterns. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving Texas, Oregon, Idaho, and California, I provide online couples and marraige counseling designed to help partners reconnect and rebuild the foundation of their friendship. When friendship is strong, couples are better able to communicate with vulnerability, compassion, and emotional safety. My work is informed by advanced training with the Gottman Insititute and attachment-based therapies. I help couples indentify ineffective patterns, understand deeper emotional needs underneath conflict, and learn practical tools to shift how couples communicate and respond to one another. I approach therapy with sensitivity, curiosity, and respect for each partner's lived experience. I intentionally create space where both individuals feel heard, supported, and guided. In our work together, we explore how past experiences shape present reactions while builing new skills that strengthen connection.
