Has it been a long time since you felt connected to your partner? Are you in a relationship but still lonely? Are you and your partner fighting all the time? Has there been a betrayal in the relationship? Is there a lack of intimacy?
These are the most common reasons couples seek counseling.
When couples are experiencing either significant conflict or distance, it is time to seek professional help. I work with couples to reduce fights and rekindle that spark that first attracted you to each other. Many couples have ingrained negative patterns of interacting and communicating. These patterns get in the way of feeling joyful, connected, sexy, and committed. My specialty is to identify and address these negative patterns, and to replace them with positive patterns so that couples can not only survive, but thrive. And when there has been a betrayal (infidelity, for instance), effective counseling can help couples recover.
If you would like to become a more joyful and content couple, I would be honored to help you get there.
For couples contemplating marriage/commitment, pre-marital counseling can help you begin your new life with effective communication and conflict management skills. It is a good idea to work out wrinkles ahead of time, including: parenting, finances, family issues, and life goals.
