About
Marryam’s career began in 2005, working in various sectors including youth homelessness, addictions, domestic violence, relationship education, and forensic mental health. By 2014, she completed her first postgraduate degree and established Changes Psychotherapy, reflecting her interest in psychotherapy. Marryam is a clinical member of ANZAP and PACFA, and is trained in the Conversational Model, EMDR, the Gottman Method, the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), and Interpersonal Group Psychotherapy. She utilises a bio-psycho-social-relational framework to create an empathically attuned therapeutic environment. She offers couples counselling and trauma-informed psychodynamic psychotherapy for both individuals and groups. Marryam has a particular interest in utilising the Conversational Model in both couples and group psychotherapy methods. Her clinical work focuses on the relational conditions that support interpersonal harmony and authentic connection. She is the couples therapist on the documentary series Couples Therapy Australia, airing on SBS.
