I have over twenty years counselling experience, work only with couples, and have embraced working with people online, finding that there are no particular downsides to not being in the same physical space, and all the convenience of contact without leaving our respective homes.
I use Gottman based interventions, and aim to make therapy sessions educative, gentle, collaborative, and occasionally even fun.
Too many relationships end, with accompanying heartbreak, not because the couple are fundamentally incompatible, but because they've never learned the skills needed to have a fulfilling and successful life-long connection. That's not surprising, as there are few obvious opportunities to learn those skills growing up, so we have to make it up as we go along, and most of us are clueless as hell. I can be helpful with the dissatisfaction that often seems to follow the initial besotted phase, repetitive conflict, loss of emotional connection, affairs, sexual problems, and unresolved childhood issues being acted out between you.
You may well be thinking that you just need someone to fix your partner, and everything will be alright. However, in all likelihood your partner is thinking something very similar about you, so I'll provide something a little more nuanced, with a comprehensive assessment to identify the dynamics that are causing problems, without blaming either of you. We'll look in detail at what the issues are, how they developed, and what needs to happen to get you back on track.
Currently you may be convinced that you are not with the 'right' person after all. Often the task is not to find a new, supposedly right person to love but to reconnect with the right person you already found. If you still have at least a bit of love, a bit of commitment, and a bit of hope, that can be done.
Talk to me by email or phone if you'd like to know more. My fee is £70 per one hour session. The first two meetings, the detailed assessment, are double sessions.
