I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Gottman Therapist and Master Trainer and Consultant for The Gottman Institute. I am passionate about coaching others to move in a more meaningful direction in their lives. My goal is to guide clients in changing their self-defeating patterns that interfere with their happiness, success and health and help them move towards their greatest potential. My counseling approach is an eclectic blend of cognitive behavioral strategies and mindfulness, along with the insights gained from my training with the Gottman Institute. Additional training in treating couples includes the Externship for Emotionally Focused Therapy. My belief is that an integrative approach that deals with physical, emotional and spiritual growth is the most effective.
Professionally I have worn many hats over the years, including teaching at Texas A&M University, holding a management position at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, and working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Never have I been more engaged in my work as I am now in my role as a couples counselor. My specialty is helping couples heal from affairs, relationship loneliness, over-the-top conflicts and a loss of friendship and romance. In 2007 Alysha Roll and I joined forces to create Couples Counseling and Psychotherapy Associates, a dynamic group of independent practitioners dedicated to providing diverse services to our northeast Houston community. I offer indivudual and couples counseling and marathon couples therapy. Additionally I also teach The Art & Science of Love, The Art & Science of Love 2, as well as all levels of clinician training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am on the Speaker's Bureau for The Gottman Institute and can provide interviews on a wide variety of relationship topics.
