As a U.S. native, I am a Connecticut Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. With over 20 years of experience, I work collaboratively with clients, utilizing a trauma-informed approach and a variety of treatment modalities (including a variety of systemic models, Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) to assist them in reconnecting with, and building, on their strengths. I have experience in a variety of settings including community mental health, substance abuse, and domestic abuse agencies, and private practice in the U.S.
Meeting clients with compassion and empathy comes easily due to my educational background; work experience and my own full, and challenging life experiences. As an expat, I understand the added stress to the peaks and valleys of life, living in a new country can bring.
In my work with clients, as a Level 3 trained Gottman Method Therapist, I use the Gottman Method to assist couples in learning healthy and effective ways to communicate that not only improve their ability to resolve conflicts and ongoing issues but enhance their friendship and increase the passion for one another.
I am passionate about helping —
Couples resolve conflict and enrich their relationships;
Teens and young adults build self-esteem and resilience;
Study abroad students and expats adjust to life abroad;
Those coping with grief and bereavement;
Women rebuild their lives following trauma, divorce or death of a partner/spouse; and
Coaching singles as they search for "the one."
