About
I am a Licensed Associate Counselor who received my counseling degree from Lamar University in Beaumont Texas. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and have an extensive background in pastoral ministry.
I work with teens through older adults and deal with a broad range of issues including depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, premarital and marital relationships, family and friendship relationship problems, and spiritual issues.
I mainly uses techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and am also trained in the Gottman method of couple’s therapy. I am also trained to use EMDR (trauma desensitization).
I believe a good relationship needs to be formed between counselor and client in the counseling setting. It is important to build rapport and comfort as a foundation for the counseling relationship. Then, I believe it is important to walk alongside the client and encourage them to move toward transformation.
