About
Mike Fidler, MSW RSW, has spent close to 45 years helping other people, children, teens, parents, and grandparents, individuals, families, and couples to have a better life in his roles as a Social Worker, Child Abuse Specialist, Therapist and Teacher.
Mike is an advanced trainer with the Gottman Institute, Seattle, Washington. He has spent 20 years with a small group of 35 international trainers led by John and Julie Gottman studying how to use over fifty years of the best research on relationships, to inform couples, train therapists, and now inform teens, on how to make their relationships work.
Semi-retired, Mike sees one couple on an ongoing basis. He is focused on training therapists, case and certification track consulting, developing curriculum for teens and assisting couples through the Art and Science of Love Workshops. He is available for lectures, training, and short courses upon invitation.
Mike has certificates from the University of Toronto as a custody access mediator, Psychosocial Factors in Rehabilitation & Addiction Studies, and an Advanced Family Therapy training certificate from the George Hull Family & Children’s Centre. Mike has advanced training in emotional focused couple’s therapy with Susan Johnson & Les Greenberg, and in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy as an attachment & trauma therapist for youth with Daniel Hughes. Mike is a certified Gottman couple’s therapist. He is a certified advanced trainer with the Gottman Institute and is a consultant in the therapist certification track. Mike is a certified Art & Science of Love workshop leader.
