Hello Everyone
I am Mohammed (Moh’d)
As a counsellor, my primary area of interest is relationships and how they have affected and continue to affect each of us as individuals. I enjoy helping couples improve their communication and conflict-resolution skills. In addition, as a side career, I enjoy helping people discover more about themselves via the experience of their spouse during couples therapy sessions.
My goal in one-on-one therapy is to help my clients identify embedded habits that are destructive, counterproductive, and restrictive. These are often the first to surface in the back-and-forth of spouses' grievances. When there is a major shift or loss in our lives, we frequently confront our relationship with ourselves. A significant number of individuals I work with present to me with anxiety, fear, and mood disorders that impede their ability to be motivated and feel worthy of themselves. Working with individuals on their own, my therapeutic approach incorporates a range of attachment, change, and personality models.
My training in the Gottman method came from working with couples and understanding their struggles, as well as the need to provide them with the assistance they desire. This helped me realize the need to use a search-based approach backed by extensive experience. That was the motivation behind my Gottman therapy training, which I completed levels one and two of and am about to complete level three of. In addition, I am a Seven Principles Workshop Leader, and a Bringing Baby Home Educator.
