Do you want to rebuild your emotional and physical connection with your partner? Would you like to rediscover intimacy and reignite passion? Are you hoping to heal past wounds and learn how to resolve conflict so that you can have the relationship you deserve? Or, perhaps you are not sure if you want to work on your marriage or let it go.
I work with couples and individuals who are either looking to improve their relationships or are trying to figure out the best path forward. I am passionate about helping couples and individuals learn healthy communication, break patterns of conflict and build connection. Through Gottman and EMDR training, I empower clients to heal from past wounds so that they can establish secure, healthy relationships.
I like to take a proactive active approach and help couples learn the skills they need that are necessary to enjoy a happy, healthy, and long-term relationship.
Each session is planned with exercises for you and your partner to learn to help you break patterns and become unstuck. You can expect to have "homework" and to work on these new skills after each session to become more accustomed to using them.
Here is a partial list of what I treat in couples therapy:
-A breakdown in communication
-Emotional disconnect
-Barely any intimacy or affection and you feel lonely in your relationship
-Recovering from an affair/infidelity
-Overcoming trauma
-Are engaged and want to make sure you build a solid foundation
-Are separated or considering divorce
-Feel more like roommates
-Feel like strangers and are no longer on the same page
-Are constantly arguing
I know this isn't easy. I offer a variety of counseling formats to fit your needs including individual sessions, extended couples sessions and trauma focused therapy. I specialize in couples work! I am accepting new clients and offer a complimentary 20 min consultation for anyone in the state of NJ. Call or email today. Your relationship deserves it.
