About

I work with couples exclusively through intensives, also known as marathon therapy, rather than traditional weekly sessions. This concentrated format gives us uninterrupted time to understand your relationship, establish a framework for change, and put what you learn to work.

For couples seeking comprehensive work, I offer private two-day intensives, with shorter options when clinically appropriate. Rather than asking you to decide how much therapy you need before we've met, I make a recommendation based on your relationship, concerns, and goals.

The Gottman Method is the foundation of my couples work. I teach research-based principles and tools, then coach you in applying them to your own interactions. I work with couples facing conflict, disconnection, intimacy and sexual concerns, trust issues, parenting and financial disagreements, grief, and extended-family challenges. I also have extensive experience helping couples recover from infidelity and betrayal.

My goal is not to keep you in therapy indefinitely. I want you to understand your relationship, recognize the patterns that get you into trouble, and develop skills you can continue using on your own.

My style is direct, warm, and often funny. I'm empathetic but also a straight shooter, and I'll always let you know what I think.

I work extensively with couples in Virginia, Kansas, and Missouri via telehealth. I offer in-person intensives in Kansas City and during select weekends in Northern Virginia, and I travel for private intensives when appropriate.
